Laurie holds a Master's Degree in Business Administration with a marketing major, awarded by Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition, Laurie holds a B.S. in Journalism, specializing in Public Relations, from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio.
Laurie has been working in market research since 1996 and has been a full time independent qualitative marketing consultant since 1999. She is a member of the Qualitative Research Consultants Association, (QRCA) and the Pharmaceutical Marketing Research Group (PMRG). In 1998, Laurie attended RIVA Institute's Intensive Moderator Training Course and earned a perfect score on her final project, a 20-minute focus group.

Laurie's professional experience is grounded in the healthcare industry. For twenty years, Laurie held positions of progressive responsibility within the marketing and public relations area for Good Samaritan Hospital, a tertiary teaching hospital and the largest private hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. While at Good Samaritan, Laurie assisted in producing and attended annual clinical symposia hosted by the hospital's Cardiology, Oncology, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Trauma/Neurosurgical and Vascular Surgery departments. She was also a facilitator and advisor for the hospital's International Customer Service Association Award-winning guest relations program.
Laurie has served the managed care arena as a consultant for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield, Inc. and as an associate of Anthem Prescription Management, Inc., the pharmacy program manager for many Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield health plans. At Anthem Prescription Management, Laurie worked intensively with the company's staff of clinical pharmacists to produce four formularies annually. In addition, she was in charge of producing consumer-targeted publications explaining the benefits and proper use of medications.
